Gander uses Groq to identify places, generate answers and prepare guides. Relevant inputs include your questions, recognised speech, conversation history, location and direction context, and guide destinations and preferences. ElevenLabs turns generated narration and answer text into speech; that text may include information from your questions. Voice replies use on-device speech recognition rather than uploading your microphone recording.
Saving or updating a trip, activating walk access or a subscription update can automatically prepare guides from saved destinations. Gander stores conversations and automatically uploads detailed walk diagnostics for troubleshooting, as explained in the privacy policy. Avoid submitting sensitive information about yourself or other people.
By selecting “I agree” during onboarding, you agree to the AI data sharing described in this section and our privacy policy. These AI services are required for Gander’s walks and answers. If you disagree or change your mind, do not use the app; sign out or delete your account in Settings. Previously generated reusable guides and public-place research may continue to be processed and retained independently of your account.
PostHog analytics are part of the service and do not have a separate in-app opt-out. Limited onboarding and funnel analytics starts from first use, before agreement or sign-in. After sign-in, usage events can be linked to your account identifier; the servers also collect service and AI performance metadata. We exclude names, email addresses, question and answer text, raw audio and precise coordinates from analytics properties. Generated account/device identifiers are pseudonymous and can still be personal data. Signing out resets the analytics identity but does not stop onboarding analytics. We do not sell this data or use it for cross-app targeted advertising. See the privacy policy for the data involved, processing purposes, retention, account deletion and your legal rights.
